LEMFÖRDER is a German brand specializing in steering and suspension parts for cars. The company was founded in 1947 in Lemförde, Lower Saxony, by Jürgen Ulderup under the name Lemförder Metallwaren AG. Early on, production of rubber-metal components began, and in 1954 the company was granted a patent for a maintenance-free ball joint technology — a significant innovation that greatly improved the reliability and lifespan of the parts.
A distinctive feature of the brand is its owl logo, which references the founder Ulderup — “Ule” means owl in Low German — symbolizing precision and reliability. In 1984, LEMFÖRDER became part of the ZF Friedrichshafen AG group, enabling strong international growth for the brand.
The majority of production — over 90% — still takes place in Germany, contributing to the high quality standards for which LEMFÖRDER is known. In addition, the brand has manufacturing and development sites in the USA, Spain, Japan, and China.
