Hengst, filters and filtration systems

Hengst Filtration is a German family-owned company specializing since 1958 in the development of advanced filtration systems for the automotive industry and various other sectors. The headquarters are located in Münster, and the company has grown into a global player with over 3,700 employees across 26 sites worldwide. Hengst supplies both original filtration systems (OEM) and aftermarket replacement parts for passenger cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles.

Hengst products are designed to optimize engine performance, extend vehicle lifespan, and provide a more efficient, cleaner, and safer driving experience. Over the years, Hengst has introduced numerous innovations, such as the launch in 1993 of the ENERGETIC® filtration system, the first metal-free filter element. The company has also expanded its production sites, including its own aluminum foundry and more recently facilities in India and Romania.

Hengst continues to place great importance on sustainability and environmentally friendly solutions, undertaking various initiatives to reduce its ecological footprint. Additionally, in 2021, the company strengthened its position in the industrial filtration sector by acquiring the hydraulic filtration division of Bosch Rexroth, and in 2024, it acquired Main Filter, a specialist in hydraulic filters.
