Continental ContiTech is a division of the German technology company Continental AG, specializing in the development and production of rubber and plastic solutions for various industrial and automotive applications. The parent company, Continental AG, was founded in 1871 in Hanover, Germany, initially producing rubber products such as horseshoe pads. In 1991, the technical products division was branded as “ContiTech” to emphasize its focus on innovative rubber and plastic technologies.

In 2015, ContiTech significantly expanded its market share in North America through the acquisition of the American company Veyance Technologies. This not only strengthened its market position but also broadened and diversified its product portfolio. Recently, in 2025, Continental AG announced that ContiTech will operate as an independent entity by the end of 2026, as part of a strategic restructuring in which the three main divisions—Automotive, Tires, and ContiTech—will operate independently.

ContiTech offers a wide range of products, from air and oil hoses to drive belts and insulation materials, all essential for the operation and safety of vehicles and machinery. The division continues to evolve with a strong focus on technological innovation and sustainability within the automotive industry.
